Preparing for Your Spiritual Reading

A spiritual reading is a personal experience. You may come seeking connection with a loved one who has passed, greater clarity around something meaningful in your life, intuitive guidance, or simply an opportunity to explore what comes forward.

It is natural to arrive with hope, curiosity, and perhaps some nervousness, especially when the experience matters deeply to you.

Every reading unfolds differently. Some information may feel immediately clear and meaningful, while other details may be subtle or make more sense with time. You do not need to prepare perfectly or know exactly what you want to ask.

Simply come with an open mind, a clear intention, and a willingness to let the experience unfold naturally.

Before We Meet

Set a Simple Intention

Take a few moments to consider what brings you to the reading.

Perhaps you hope to connect with someone specific, receive guidance around a life situation, gain clarity, or explore your own intuitive awareness.

You are welcome to write down a few questions or topics beforehand, but there is no need to create a detailed agenda. Think of your intention as a starting point rather than an expectation for how the reading must unfold.

Hold Your Loved Ones Close

If you are hoping to connect with someone who has passed, you may wish to spend a quiet moment thinking about them before the session.

Speak their name, remember a meaningful moment, look at a photograph, or simply hold them in your thoughts.

There is no ritual required and nothing you need to do perfectly. Simply allow the intention to be present without placing pressure on what happens next.

Create Space to Be Present

Choose a quiet, comfortable setting where you can participate without significant distractions.

For online readings, make sure you have a reliable connection and a private place where you can speak freely. For in person sessions, give yourself enough time to arrive without feeling rushed.

You do not need to be perfectly calm or centered.

Take a breath, settle in, and come as you are.

During Your Reading

Stay Open to the Unexpected

It is completely natural to hope for a particular connection, message, or answer.

At the same time, readings do not always unfold in the way we anticipate.

Try to hold your expectations gently and remain curious about what comes forward. Sometimes the most meaningful part of a reading is something you were not expecting to hear.

Being open does not mean accepting everything without question. Your own judgment and discernment always matter.

Respond Honestly

A reading is an interactive experience.

You do not need to provide extensive background information. Simple responses such as yes, no, I am not sure, or that makes sense are often enough to keep the session moving naturally.

If something does not resonate, please say so.

There is never a need to force information to fit. Sometimes additional context brings clarity, sometimes something makes sense later, and sometimes it simply may not resonate.

All of those possibilities are okay.

Allow Yourself to Feel

Readings can bring forward unexpected emotions such as grief, relief, love, laughter, sadness, or a sense of peace.

Whatever you feel is welcome.

You do not need to apologize for becoming emotional or try to hold yourself together for the sake of the session. Take the time you need.

This is your experience.

After Your Session

Give It Time to Settle

You do not need to understand everything immediately.

Some parts of your reading may feel clear the moment you hear them. Others may stay with you and take on greater meaning over the following days.

Give yourself some space afterward if you can. Take a walk, journal, rest, or simply sit quietly with the experience.

If a recording is available, you may find it helpful to revisit the session later. People are often surprised by details they did not fully notice the first time.

Keep What Resonates

A spiritual reading should offer perspective, connection, and reflection, not tell you what you must believe or what decisions you should make.

Take what feels meaningful.

Stay curious about what remains unclear.

And feel comfortable setting aside anything that does not resonate with you.

Your own intuition, judgment, values, and lived experience remain important guides.

Trust the Timing

There is no required timeline for scheduling another reading.

I generally encourage giving yourself enough space to reflect on what you have received before seeking another session. Insights can continue to unfold, emotions can settle, and perspectives can change with time.

A reading should never become something you feel you need in order to make every decision or find reassurance whenever life feels uncertain. Allow yourself to trust your own inner guidance.

A spiritual reading is not about giving your power away.

It is an opportunity to explore connection, gain perspective, and reconnect with the wisdom you already carry within you.
